Event: Nick Clegg speaking on Europe

Nick Clegg will be giving a speech entitled "Stronger Together: A Liberal Future for Europe" on Monday 20th April 2009 between 1pm and 2pm at the London Stock Exchange. This is a "Business for New Europe" event at which Nick will outline why Britain is safer and stronger as a committed member of the European Union. Focusing on economic security during the global recession, the fight against climate change and ongoing efforts to tackle cross-border crime and terrorism, he will explain why joint action is the best way for Britain and our European allies to tackle international problems. The event will be moderated by Roland Rudd (Chairman, Business for New Europe).

UEF launches manifesto for European elections

The Union of European Federalists has published its manifesto for the European Parliament elections. Stronger Together in a Federal Europe responds to the current crises of the economy, climate and international security by calling for the European Union to strengthen its system of government.
