Invitation to back an Emergency Motion on the EU campaign for the York Conference Since formation of the Liberal Democrats, the Party has believed that it is in the interests of the United Kingdom, and of the European Union as a whole, that the UK takes an active part in EU decision making. The Party and its partners in the ALDE Group are striving to improve the EU, including by increasing its efficiency and democratic accountability.
