ICAEW on Europe

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has told LDEG that the EU is the largest and most important market for UK businesses and that its success as a competitive and growing economy which can respond flexibly to the challenges of globalisation is critically important for economic growth in the UK. They also acknowledge that the EU faces some turbulent times ahead due to the combination of a global economic downturn and the growing threat of climate change.

Federal Trust Conference - Energy and Climate Change

Reuse and Recycling: Great use for old plastic film canisters

Solar Aid have come up with methods to recycle old film canisters and plastic film pots, to be used in the manufacture of their micro-solar panels as covers for terminal blocks. Solar Aid can use as many film pots as they can get hold of, as long as they have tight-fitting lids.

There is no plan B

Marks and Spencer's enthusiastic embrace of green issues appears, in my opinion, to be little more than a marketing wheeze. Bournemouth Council has taken it hook line and sinker, putting M&S branded waste/recyclables bins across the town.
