Regional Rep and Policy Panel Workshop at Spring Conference!

1 Feb 2012

We will be holding a workshop to gather interest and develop a strategy at Spring Conference from 6:15-7:30, in the SAGE Centre, on Saturday 10th March!

We want to have a broader spectrum of people contributing to GLD work and strategy. This year we are holding exec meetings for the first time, over Skype, as well as trying to find venues across the country so that it is less London-centric.

We also want to see more Regional Party Conferences submitting, discussing, and passing motions that are environmentally focused or environmentally sound to push the Green Agenda as much as possible in party policy formation.

Each region is looking to have well-informed spokespeople on different policy areas, and they all need to have awareness of how green issues affect them. Regional Reps can join exec meetings as a link between GLD exec and regional party work.

The Policy Panel will work on developing, debating and promoting new ideas for environmental policy initiatives. It may also follow Federal Party Policy work in order to reply to consultations, submit briefings, or present amendments at Federal Conferences.

Regional Reps and the Policy Committee could work together to develop consultation responses, policy motions, and briefings relevant for their regions.

Pop by between 6:15 and 7:30 and contribute to the formation and development of one or both programmes. We look forward to seeing you!

If you'd like to find out more in the meantime, or aren't going to conference but would like to get involved, email info@greenlibdems.org.uk and put 'Regional Reps' or 'Policy Panel' in the subject heading.
