Pre-nomination hustings for leadership contenders

Leadership out of Pandemic to combat climate change...?
"From the Green Liberal Democrat perspective, the recently announced leadership election for the new Leader of the Liberal Democrats, could not have come at a better timeF", says Keith Melton, chair of the Green Liberal Democrats.
Following the Liberal Democrats decision to hold the party`s Leadership election during the summer the Green Liberal Democrats will be holding a Green pre-election hustings even before nominations close. This will take place during their own Green Liberal Democrat (GLD) summer Festival of Green events, starting on 20th June and concluding on 5th July (Party nominations close on 9th July!)
Several key Lib Dem MPs were already committed to appearances at the GLD series of events during a mixed programme of speakers, debates and "Fireside Chats". To use an expression that has recently become rather familiar to everyone, these events will now be "ramped up" to generate pre-nomination excitement in our leadership contenders.
"We will be thoroughly investigating their environmental credentials. And, as the Party`s environmental Think Tank, we will also be posing some serious questions for all contenders about what each of them proposes as the "route map" for taking us out of the environmental disaster areas as the economy emerges from the Pandemic Lockdown." Keith Melton added.
Summer Festival of Environmental Events
The GLD green festival is entitled "2020 Vision: Intensive Care for Our Planet - a sustainable recovery which works for everyone" and will be conducted online over a two-week period including Mid-Summers Eve. Any MP seeking nomination for the Leadership election needs to be nominated by at least one other MP and 200 Liberal Democrats from at least 20 constituencies.
"The GLD Conferences and events will be a great shop-window for aspiring candidates to hone their green credentials before the battle begins."
