No more fear of fracking
It's been reported that South Western Energy, who were offered exploration licenses by the Government on a 20km square of land in the Trowbridge - Westbury - Warminster area, will not be accepting the licenses. They say they might want to come back if the economics change, though as Wiltshire doesn't seem to be a good area for gas or oil extraction this is unlikely to happen.

A spokesperson for the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) said: "The OGA can confirm that some blocks offered under the 14th Onshore Licensing Round have not been accepted by those to whom they were offered. This means that the licenses pertaining to these blocks will not be awarded."
