*The leadership election is finally over and Sir Ed Davey is the new leader of the Liberal Democrats. During the contest, the former Secretary of State championed his record in the coalition government in which he quadrupled renewable energy in the UK. *

*The Green Liberal Democrats welcome a proven environmental campaigner at the top of the party. Ed kicked off his "listening tour" of the UK recently. *

*We are determined to ensure the leader is listening to us!*

*Our Chair, Keith Melton wrote in his open letter to the new leader that he was pleased that "the environment [was] one of the central pillars of your campaign" and urged Ed to continue to put "green issues front and centre of the party's policy platform". *

*Read Keith's open letter to Ed.*
