GLD Chair Simon Oliver Resigns

SO
22 May 2016

The following has been received from the GLD Chair, Simon Oliver:

Dear colleagues

After much reflection, it is with deep regret that I must tender my resignation as Chair of the Green Liberal Democrats. It has become clear that the irrevocable collapse of one key relationship within the organisation has triggered increasing inertia and undermined Executive morale. As Chair I must assume responsibility and regard my continuation in the role as harmful to the organisation.

Therefore I step down with immediate effect, so that the Executive can appoint an interim Chair until the AGM in September. I will do what I can to hand over my existing responsibilities and stand ready to assist the Publications and Image group in a non-executive capacity. I also intend to remain active in policy formation as a member.

Regards

Simon Oliver
