27 Feb 2009

"The Age of Stupid" stars Pete Postlethwaite as a man living alone in the devastated future world of 2055, looking at old footage from 2008 and asking: "Why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance?" Catch the trailer here: www.ageofstupid.net/video .

"The Age of Stupid" will be released in UK cinemas on 20 March 2009. The highlight is a VIP screening in a solar-powered cinema tent in Leicester Square. The VIP's will arrive on foot, bicycle, rickshaw or in vehicles propelled by biofuel made from chip fat donated by local restaurants. Pete Postlethwaite will arrive in an experimental solar-powered car. The celebs will walk up a GREEN carpet and into a gaslit tent, the gas being provided by items from Landfill and manure supplied by the Royal Horse Guards. The tent will be heated by boilers burning briquettes made out of discarded free London papers by youth groups.

For those that don't qualify as VIPS there are 63 other cinemas showing the film with with debates planned for the opening night on Sun 15 March. Please try to make sure one of the speakers is a Lib Dem. See here for the the list of cinemas screening the film: www.ageofstupid.net/screenings .
