Congratulations Joe Biden & Kamala Harris
Many congratulations to PRESIDENT Joe Biden and VICE PRESIDENT Kamala Harris. It was a great pleasure to see you both signed in and taking over your offices peacefully today. I found it quite emotional watching the Inauguration Ceremony and I am not quite sure whether it was seeing the back of T***p: or perhaps that there was a peaceful transfer of power despite the threats we had all heard over the last couple of weeks: or, more likely, it was that tinkling sound of several glass ceilings being broken irreversibly by Kamala`s taking office as Vice President.
Politically for our own political grouping, of course, the most significant part of the transfer of power, was the fact that Joe Biden has promised immediate Executive action to reverse T***p`s exit from the Paris Accord. President Biden will lead the USA back into the fold of nations promised to tackle the Climate Catastrophe.
We will be following up on this action in due course, but I thought it was proper to recognise this day as an historical moment we can look back on with great relief.
