Lisa Nash is the Parliamentary Candidate selected to represent the Liberal Democrats in Stevenage. She is no stranger to this sort of campaign, she stood previously in 2019 and at the time more than doubled the Lib Dem vote share in this constituency. Lisa is also a North Hertfordshire district councillor representing Knebworth ward, having won the seat from a Conservative majority, and is therefore very familiar with the issues that the constituents local to Stevenage, and in the surrounding rural communities face, and is more than ready to stand up for them as a Member of Parliament. Lisa has many roles on the council, but particularly concerning the environment, she shadows the waste portfolio.

Lisa has a proven track record as a campaigner, one of the motivators for her to get into politics was leading the initiative to save the only pub in her village for the community to enjoy. She has led many community initiatives and has recently been endorsed as a Green Lib Dem - she now asking residents to join her with her environmental pledge to take small steps to make a real difference to the local community. There are 10 pledges which fall under the 3 headings of use less energy; protect the environment; use sustainable transport.

Aside from her councillor and campaigning duties, Lisa is a midwife and a lecturer, giving her excellent insight into the difficulties that NHS staff face, therefore is an excellent candidate to champion the cause in Parliament, informed by first-hand knowledge. Furthermore, Lisa is acutely aware of healthcare struggles in the care sector as a mother of a child with special needs. Not only does she face the challenges on a daily basis that other parents who have children with special needs face, she experiences the struggle to get those children's voices heard - particularly when it comes to meeting their educational and social needs.

For Lisa, education is so valuable, and every child, of every ability, deserves the best start in life to reach their potential. Nothing should be a barrier to a child getting good education.

As a midwifery educator, Lisa has the insight and understanding of the issues that students and universities face around finances and funding. She believes passionately that there should be no financial barriers for people undertaking healthcare training. Recognising the public health crisis in maternity units, Lisa is committed to ensuring that the challenges are resolved, that midwives are enabled to deliver the high quality care that they want to and that every woman deserves.

Having been a police special for many years Lisa is an advocate of the police service who she recognises have been massively impacted by underfunding which needs to be addressed so our crimes are solved.
