We have acquired the rights to show you a special film telling the `Story of Plastic` - not simply the issues of plastic waste, though that features strongly in the film… but also where the raw materials come from and how that impacts on the environment as well.
Put the date in your diaries. It will be shown on Wednesday 24th June from 4.00pm - 5.30pm, followed by an hour`s discussion of the environmental implications of what the film is telling us, through to 6.30 on Wednesday. If you cannot make it you may be able to catch up with the film later - we will send you an appropriate link if you request one, as part of your registration with the whole Festival.
The film may also provide insights as to the questions we should be asking of Mark Pack, President of the Liberal Democrats and Alison Rouse, Vice Chair of the English Lib Dems, when we talk about the "Greening of the Party" after the break (see NEXT) One of the most dispiriting things at Spring and Autumn conferences for some time now, has been the hundreds of small plastic bottles of water that are provided by the conference centres and hotels for fringe meetings and so on! What a WASTE!
