Just a very few of the 'green' business opportunities in Britain the Tories are throwing away
These are just a few of the business and environmental opportunities that the Tories, under George Osborne's foolishness & his aggressive mouthpiece Amber Rudd, are throwing away.
There is still a lot of development and commercialising work to do, which needs resource, but Professor Clare Grey and her team at the University of Cambridge have demonstrated a working battery that uses graphene (a British materials invention) to overcome a number of problems associated with lithium-air batteries. In theory these are 10times more effective than the current lithium-ion systems. If the problems can be overcome lithium-air batteries would be ideal for driving electric cars, grid-scale storage of solar energy and so forth.[see more]
Tata Steel, in collaboration with Pure Energie, will fit 80,000 solar panels on the roof of its Ijmuiden steelworks factory in the Netherlands. This will generate 22mW of electricity for the steelmaking process.
Chemistry Professor Fredrik Glasser, of the University of Aberdeen, writes in the December edition of Materials World that his research group can capture CO2 in a way that forms lightweight panels and blocks of sufficient compressive strength for general construction. They are also good thermal insulators and fireproof. The work is supported by the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD)
There is much more in similar vein. We don't need to ask where the UK Tory Government is in all this. Know the difference between vision and sight George? Well this country has wonderful technical and environmental vision which LibDems in Government strove to implement, with some success, and which you are dismantling as fast as you know how. You and your cronies are just a sight.
