City of Edinburgh Council is to play host to Edinburgh's Green Investment Bank team at its Waverley Court HQ during the initial set-up phase of the bank.

Commenting on the announcement, Edinburgh's Liberal Democrat MP, Mike Crockart said:

"It's a very exciting time for the Green Investment Bank as we welcome the team to the capital.

"I am sure that as the team settle into their temporary home at Waverley Court they will receive real encouragement and support from the Council as well as businesses across the city and throughout Scotland.

"We are all looking forward to a long and successful association; building on the excellent work of the bid team to date.

"Having the Green Investment Bank in Edinburgh will help us to establish the city as the capital of the green energy revolution, acting as a springboard for international low-carbon ventures."
