Lloyd Welcomes Launch of Big Energy Week in Parliament

January 28, 2012 6:38 PM

Stephen Lloyd welcomed the launch of Big Energy Week in Parliament on Monday. Big Energy Week, which is being run by Citizens Advice, has received support from Lloyd, who is the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Citizens Advice.

Big Energy Week is aimed at offering practical advice on cutting fuel bills and highlighting financial support individuals are entitled to. Leaflets with tips and advice on cutting fuel bills are available at local Citizens Advice Bureax.

A new website - www.bigenergyweek.org.uk - is also full of tips on how to cut your energy bills. The website also has details of local Big Energy Week events.

Stephen said: "Fuel bills are a big worry for many people at the moment. I am pleased to support Big Energy Week and hope it will make a real difference to local residents by saving them money on their bills."

Citizens Advice, Chief Executive, Gillian Guy said: "We know hikes in prices have put extra pressure on people's budgets at a time when money is already tight. Day in, day out, our Bureaux helping people who can't afford their fuel bills.

"We're worried that some people are struggling unnecessarily because they're not on the best deal; live in homes that haemorrhage heat or are not getting all of the financial help available to them."
