Stephen Williams calls for more locally grown food

August 23, 2011 12:03 PM

MP for Bristol West, Stephen Williams has welcomed the report 'Who feeds Bristol' commissioned by Bristol City Council and NHS Bristol.

Stephen is calling for greater efforts to increase the proportion of food which is produced and consumed locally. He has suggested that greater use could be made of the local green belt for growing food, writing that "protecting the green belt from urban expansion shouldn't stop us from thinking about how best to use the land."

Stephen has written an article about this issue which you can read here.
