The Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for South Wales West, Peter Black has welcomed the latest figures on Waste Management showing that Swansea is producing less waste and recycling more.
The amount of waste produced by Swansea households has reduced by 21% over the last year, 12% above the Wales average.
The amount of waste we are reusing, recycling and composting has increased by 7%, which is 5 % above the above the Wales average.
Mr. Black said: "I am pleased to see that homes in Swansea are outperforming other local authorities in their recycling and waste reduction rates.
"This is thanks to people's efforts to reduce their waste and efforts to reuse household materials. We should all be pleased at these results and my thanks go to all homes who have made the effort to reduce, reuse and recycle that have contributed to these statistics."
