Langport based Euro-MP Graham Watson will be giving his thoughts on climate change and the European strategy to combat climate change at a event in Langport this Saturday.
The event, organised by the Langport Area Team Ministry, is a chance for local people to hear of the progress regarding the European Strategy for achieving the Millennium Development Goal (MDG). The MDG is a series of targets for environmental sustainability, eradicating poverty as well as targeting preventable diseases in the developing world.
As chair of the Climate Parliament, Watson is keen to ensure environmental issues and climate change prevention remain in the public debate at all times.
'The recent events in Japan have brought the environment and energy debate right upto the forefront of people's minds. We all have obligations to use more sustainable and renewable resources in our lives.'
The event is taking place on Saturday 19th March at All Saints Hall, Langport from 3pm onwards.
