CONGRATULATIONS TO WINNERS OF GREEN GUARDIAN AWARDS
By SUSAN KRAMER MP
Richmond first Green Guardian award were held last Friday at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington and launched a weekend Eco Fair.
Susan Kramer, MP for Richmond Park, who was privileged to give the awards to the winning Primary Schools, said: "The local Guardian newspapers are to be congratulation for setting up such an important event. Schools, businesses and charities in Richmond and Twickenham as well as across SW London have been leading the way in showing us how to create a sustainable future and cut our carbon footprint. The schools awards are extra-special because the youngsters are our future. All the entrants should be proud of their efforts.
"The Eco Fair which provided the setting for the awards has lots of practical examples of how we can lead our lives, from condensing boilers to local, organic foods and even a wicker coffin. As a number of people noted, the very building used for the event, the Landmark Arts Centre, is an outstanding example of a "re-cycled" building!"
