Steve Bolter is a retired Tertiary College physics and maths lecturer. He has used his knowledge of physics to improve the energy efficiency of his home, in the village of Gestingthorpe, in rural north Essex.
Steve is a Parish Councillor and has served a term as a District Councillor, when he was on the environmental and planning committees.
Steve's interests include education, using planning and ICT to reduce CO2 emissions from transport, energy efficient buildings and energy technologies. He has spoken on these matters at national and regional conferences.
Since joining the Exec in July 2011 he has participated in a "Challenge" debate, explaining the need for nuclear power as well as renewables, helped produce a GLD response to a government consultation on planning, and worked on the GLD constitution.
As well as putting forward his own ideas, Steve has offered to help others with scientific ideas, terminology and quantities.
